SIGMA NEWS – Updates

When it comes to innovations and new releases in the camera- and lens manufacturing world, the summer months are usually a slack period. This also accounts for SIGMA – nevertheless the SIGMA developing Team worked on a few improvements over the last month. Today I’d like to let you know about those.

Especially owners of a SIGMA 100-400mm F5-6.3 DG OS HSM I Contemporary do have a reason to celebrate. At the beginning of the month, SIGMA introduced a new firmware update, which, once again, supposedly considerably improves the autofocus of the lens.

There is also news concerning the SIGMA MOUNT CONVERTER MC-11. With the new update it will be compatible with the SIGMA 14mm F1.8 DG HSM I Art and the SIGMA 24-70mm F2.8 DG OS HSM I Art.

As I mentioned a couple of times already, I think it’s always a good idea to check the SIGMA page for updates and download them if required. You’ll find the update downloads here:

For additional information it’s always a good idea to contact SIGMA retail stores or authorized affiliated merchants. SIGMA offers a very convenient service on their website, which informs you about all their locations:

Rumour has it we’ll have to wait until September 2014 (Photokina), that’s when the zoom will be officially presented. 😉 As for the second rumour, which addressed the mount conversion service for lenses, we didn’t even have to wait three whole days. Just when the rumour had been put out, the service was officially introduced. 😉
