On the lookout for inspirational photo material to get your creative juices flowing again? Want to find out more about photography and its most important personalities? Ever wondered who’s responsible for the outstanding National Geographic photos or what it’s like to be a war photographer? No worries, just have a look at “The Big Fat List of Documentaries About Photography” (undoubtedly the “fattest” collection of links on photography-documentaries I ever stumbled across) on PetaPixel, you’re bound to make a find there! 🙂

Ansel Adams, Robert Frank, Helmut Newton, Magnum, National Geographic…I’ve been watching video after video for hours now, and still have the feeling that this is only just the beginning. A very good documentary I watched a few years ago and unconditionally recommend is „The Genius of Photography“. However, you’ll need to take a great deal of time for it and should have plenty of popcorn at hand, because the 170-year old history of photography cannot be told in 15 minutes. 😉

Other than that, you can still watch a video on Ansel Adams and Henri Cartier-Bresson, those photographers who transformed the former handcraft into art. Enjoy! 🙂
