Taking photos without eyesight

How did that go again with needing a photographic eye in order to take good pictures? Tommy Edison, the Instagram user who was born blind, is of a different opinion. He takes photos with his Smartphone every day and uploads them on to the afore-mentioned platform. He has more than 13,000 followers and is one of its most prominent members. To me many of his pictures look like they were taken at random – on those particular ones you can identify his disability. On some like i.e. on the sample below, you can see a specific, well developed sense of composition and of the image effect.

You can see Edison’s picture taking process with a touchscreen based device on youtube:

Tommy Edison may not be Henri Cartier-Bresson, yet I was amazed how great some of his photos are, despite of his disability. I am in fact a little bit jealous. ;)

I am going to google some more information about other blind photographers and artists and get my eye in first. In case you know any, please write all suggestions in the comments below. I really want to learn more about the topic. :)
